Kelly Olson has been recognized as one of Construtech’s 2019 Women in Construction, a recognition given to women who have shown dedication, passion and innovation in the construction industry. She’s built her career on the value of service and life-long learning, qualities she firmly believes are deeply rooted in the Western States culture.
“We’re constantly learning, with an expectation that we can always be better than we were yesterday,” she said. She’s especially proud of Western States’ adaptation of technology, both in our equipment and in the workplace.
“This is a fascinating business, loaded with opportunity,” Kelly said, “Being curious, getting involved with activities you’re passionate about at work—like joining the Safety Advocate Team, or participating in community involvement events– and approaching everything with a ‘why not?’ mindset opens so many doors.”
Looking back on her 15-year career with Western States, Kelly’s favorite accomplishment is rooted in her work-life balance.
“I’m proud that my kids are proud of their mom,” she said.
