DUMP HUNGER: ONE WEEK LEFT

The current Dump Hunger campaign ends soon, it’s time to get those last-minute donations in!

Food banks across our territory were faced with increased need and fewer resources when COVID-19 hit. Through monetary and food donations, the Western States family has been proud to help local food banks to continue to serve their communities.

“Food banks are on the front lines of an unprecedented battle against hunger throughout the Inland Northwest as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Jason Clark, President and CEO of Second Harvest in Spokane, “We’re grateful for our partners at Western States and the many generous people making donations to their annual Dump Hunger campaign.”

So far, Western States employees have donation approximately $5,400 in monetary donations, as well as just over 700lbs of food. The company will match monetary donations up to $10,000; this means that there are still several thousand dollars’ worth of match money available.

If you have not yet donated, or have been on the fence, now is the time! The money from each store is donated to that store’s local food bank, meaning that the resources you give will help your local community. July 3, 2020 will be the last day to donate money online.
