BLOOD DRIVE IN MISSOULA

In response to the nation-wide blood shortage, our Missoula team recently hosted a successful blood drive at their store!

15 Western States employees gave blood at the drive, as well as one person from outside the company. Motivated by the need for blood in their community, the store was more than happy to step up and do their part.

“We saw there was a real need for blood donations, and as a branch we are always looking for ways to give back to our community,” said Branch Manager Duane Baney. Getting ready to host a blood drive was easy, Duane said; after filling out a form on the Red Cross website, Duane was put in contact with local Red Cross coordinators, who helped the team make sure everything was ready to go for the event.

“Everything is done online, from scheduling the blood drive to scheduling the appointments for blood donors. All in all, it is an easy process to get set up to host a blood drive,” he said.

“Donating blood is an easy, efficient way to help others. It’s quick and (mostly) painless, plus there are free snacks as well!” said Missoula Service Administrator Lily Desenberg.

Blood is needed in hospitals across our territory. If you would like to donate, head to the Red Cross website to find a blood drive near you.
