MERIDIAN MAKES PANCAKES.

Last week, the Meridian BLT Team held their annual $5 pancake breakfast as part of a Western Cares initiative benefitting the Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA). The WCA provides shelter and support for those affected by domestic abuse.

After consuming 300 flapjacks and 400 sausage links, Meridian ended up with $1,250.00 to donate along with some WSECO sippy cups for younger children. Last year, 152 women and children stayed in the local WCA shelter, for a total of 9,216 safe bed nights. WCA Client Advocates answered 1,867 calls on two 24-hour hotlines.
