2018 SKILLS USA DIESEL TECHNOLOGY COMPETITION IS ALMOST HERE.

Coming up April 6th, 2018, 40 students from all over Idaho will congregate in Meridian to showcase their savvy diesel tech knowledge. Each year WSECO hosts the competition, during which time students and vendors may gain valuable exposure to our people, facilities and culture.

“It’s always a big deal for Western States to host this event,” states Chase Gilbertson, WSECO Service Admin Assistant. “We love bringing outside vendors and students into the shop to see how clean our work areas are. These kids that are competing are just steps away from applying for jobs and during competition time we can see really how good they perform in different areas of the diesel industry.”

Top performing students are selected from four colleges and five high schools statewide:

  • Idaho State University (Pocatello, ID)
  • College of Western Idaho (Nampa, ID)
  • College of Southern Idaho (Twin Falls, ID)
  • Lewis and Clark State College (Lewiston, ID)
  • Cossa High School (Wilder, ID)
  • Dennis Tech Center (Boise, ID)
  • Cassia High School (Burley, ID)
  • Ktec High School (Rathdrum, ID)
  • Minico High School (Rupert, ID)
